Whilst he has not yet made plans for the day, I am sure that someone from the office will take pity on him and invite him over for a weekend BBQ but time is running out for an invitation to be issued.
Although we all enjoy a paid break, we should remember that we have this day off to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers. This day has its origins in the labour union movement which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation and eight hours for rest.
